Forensic interviews are investigative-based interviews conducted with potential victims or witnesses of violent crimes. NFIN conducts victim-centered, detail-oriented interviews that are legally defensible and are available to professionals investigating allegations of child abuse and neglect as well as violent crime at any local, state, federal, or tribal jurisdiction.
Only civil or criminal investigators, or prosecutorial offices at a county, district, state, or federal level may request forensic interviews.
NFIN Services may be retained to conduct in-person forensic interviews, observed by involved criminal or civil investigators. Ideally conducted at a neutral site, such as a Children's Advocacy Center, forensic interviews are appropriate for children or adults who may have experienced or witnessed trauma. NFIN provides an interviewer that is a recognized expert to work with your MDT.
NFIN will also conduct virtual forensic interviews, sometimes called tele-forensic interviews, in which the individual and interviewer are not in the same location. These interviews are conducted in similar format as in-person interviews, but with minimal orientation instructions used for the interviewee. Virtual forensic interviews are conducted with involved investigators observing via HIPAA compliant digital platform.
